Itinerary Details

 

Day 1: Delhi – Shimla


Once you reach the Delhi Airport / Railway Station, an IHPL representative offers an assisted transfer to your first destination Shimla, by road. Fondly referred to as the 'Queen of Hills', Shimla is a very popular hill town in Himachal Pradesh. As you reach, check in at the hotel. After settling into the rooms, the day is at your own discretion. Spend the day doing the activities of your interest. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. 

Day 2: Shimla - Kufri - Shimla

Post breakfast, day 2 is scheduled for an excursion to Kufri, a must-visit place. Placed at an altitude of 2290 m above sea level, Kufri is blessed with tranquility, and scenery and is dotted with tourist attractions like Mahasu Peak, Chini Bungalow, and Indira Tourist Park, etc. When back in Shimla, visit the Vice Regal Lodge- once the summer residence of various British viceroys, it boasts an interesting English Renaissance architecture. Thereafter in the evening, enjoy a leisure walk on the Mall Road. Delicious Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Shimla - Manali 

After breakfast on the 3rd day, get transferred by road to Manali. Placed at an altitude of 2050 m above sea level, Manali is a very popular hill station that is flocked by tourists every year in crazy numbers. On reaching, check-in at the hotel. Get some rest. The evening is at leisure. Take a walk on the main market road of Manali. Enjoy the bustling tourist activity, taste the local renditions, enjoy the cool breeze, and more. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Manali Sightseeing

Today, get all set for visiting the prime attractions of Manali. Visit Hadimba Devi Temple- an ancient temple around 450 years old that is dedicated to Hadimba Devi wide of one of the Pandava brothers Bhim, Jagatsukh- a small village that houses old Shikara-style temples and Vashisht Kund- hot water sulphur springs. Later in the day explore the Tibetan Monastery and the handicraft center. Take a walk up to the old Vashisht village. Back to the hotel for dinner. Stay overnight. 

Day 5: Manali - Rohtang Pass - and Aral Tunnel - Manali
 

After breakfast, we shall move to Rohtang pass (13,050ft) via Kothi, Gulaba, Beas Nala, and Marhi. Spend some time at Rohtang pass and then continue your journey to Koksar after descending down from the opposite side. After taking team (or lunch), we shall move to Gufa hotel where the tunnel has its northern end (North Portal) after crossing the Chandra bridge. Enjoy traversing the world’s longest highway tunnel above 10,000ft from sea level. The tunnel is equipped with ultra-modern safety and other technical instruments. You will not lose your mobile network and high-speed 4G internet (BSNL only) even inside the tunnel. Then you will exit the tunnel from its southern end (South portal) at Dhundi. You will observe that you had entered a tunnel from barren but beautiful land of Lahaul and exited at a green place at Dhundi. Then continue your trip to Solang valley. After spending some time at Solang, return back to Manali. At Solang, you can enjoy a Gondola ride (ropeway), horse riding, zorbing, paragliding, ATV ride, and many more adventure activities.

Please note that visiting Rohtang pass depends on the opening of the road in winter. Generally, snow blocks the Manali-Rohtang pass road in winter which opens in May or sometime in April end. Even Kothi, Gulaba remains closed after heavy snowfall. In such conditions, you will have to avoid visiting Rohtang pass and we shall head directly to Dhundi via Solang valley for Atal Tunnel tour. And we shall return back from the same route. Please note that very heavy snowfall can block both the roads to Atal tunnel as well.

Note: Rohtang Pass will be closed every Tuesday & a sightseeing tour will be possible subject to weather conditions.

Day 6: Manali - Delhi 

Today is the last day of the tour. Relish an early morning breakfast. Complete the check-out formalities. Begin your drive back to New Delhi. Get an assisted transfer to the Delhi railway station / Airport for your onward journey.
